As a child, DK Designs founder Dexter Carty discovered a profound joy in sketching his visions onto paper. This early enthusiasm blossomed into an unyielding passion for architecture and design and led Dexter to obtain a bachelor’s degree in interior architecture. After working as a senior design professional and leading younger designers in the A&E industry for over 20 years, Dexter recognized a compelling opportunity to establish his own practice and offer his expertise to clients while fostering genuine relationships. He is also acutely aware of the considerable benefits that arise from accurately interpreting a client’s vision while solving complex, multi-dimensional design problems.  His goal is that clients experience the same joy and excitement in the design process that he has always cherished. 

Dexter is very passionate, creative, a great communicator and loves problem solving while paying attention to details. During his 20 plus years in the A&E industry, he worked on numerous healthcare projects for several top U.S. healthcare systems, including critical care towers, rehabilitation hospitals and medical office buildings.  He became the trusted advisor for his clients with a focus on improving patient, visitor and staff safety while creating welcoming environments resulting in positive patient outcomes.  He also worked on many Industrial projects including several manufacturing plants.  Dexter also brings numerous experiences from the life and workplace design market and has developed a keen ability to design spaces that enhance the human experience in any market.
